Portland State CAVES to demands of Gaza supporting Antifa-linked activists who sieged library

The school will not seek criminal charges against those who took part in the destruction or seizure of Millar Library, nor will students be expelled, suspended or penalized for their participation during the change of command.

This week, Portland State University caved to the demands of anti-Israel activists who taken over the library of the school and shut down the campus to support Gaza. A majority of those who are involved are linked to Antifa external agitators, and aren’t associated with the school.

President Cudd issued an email announcing that the school will not investigate criminal charges against those who took part during the devastation and seizing from the Millar Library. Nor will students be disciplined or expelled for their participation in the incident.

In addition, Cudd vowed to personally help with scholarships and artistic works committed to Palestine in addition to PSU’s commitment to financial aid for anti-racist efforts. President Cudd said she would give personal donations for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia (MENASA) Student Center at PSU as a requirement in the contract.

While the president Cudd stated that about 50 students had left the library before the early morning hours on Wednesday, more people who are not students are still inside the vandalized structure that has been transformed to an independent zone, similar as Seattle’s CHAZ.

President Cudd sent an message: “I have an update to share regarding the protest at the Branford Price Millar Library and our shared wish for a peaceful resolution. Around midnight last night, negotiators for the PSU students occupying the library provided verbal assurance that they would sign a memorandum of agreement with me to vacate the library by 1:30 AM on May 1.”

“In exchange, we offered to guarantee no expulsion, suspension or change to their status and that the university would not file criminal charges. In return, the students agreed to refrain from violating student codes of conduct as they continue to exercise their full rights to free speech on campus,” Cudd said. Cudd.

“In addition, I personally agreed to support faculty efforts to include scholarship and creative works related to Palestine in PSU’s Race and Ethnic Studies Requirement, PSU’s ongoing financial commitment to anti-racist work, a personal donation to the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia (MENASA) Student Center at Portland State. PSU and [I] will continue to fund anti-racist efforts,” she added.

“Finally, I agreed to meet with student leaders on May 17 in the afternoon about the remaining concerns of the protest to continue our dialogue,” Cudd said. Cudd. “Approximately 50 students left of their own accord and I thank them and other students who have worked to de-escalate the protest…It is our understanding that there are also a number of non-students who remain in the library as part of the protest.”

Alongside the involvement of Rose City Antifa with the library that is occupied which has brought prominent members of the left-wing extremist organization on campus, including Alissa Azar, and John Hacker, it has been found the primary organizers of the group is an adult male who is not a student with a criminal record of violence.

The journalist Andy Ngo, senior editor of Post Millennial, wrote on X: “I’ve investigated and found out the identity of one of the main accounts helping to organize the criminal Antifa and far-left siege at Portland State University for Gaza. Portland far-left extremist ‘Quinn Diane Thereaux’ is the alias for Shawn Thomas Biggers. He has an arrest history that includes being charged with felony assault.”

Biggers is in his 40s, and has his own history of far-left activism in Portland that dates back to the past.
