EPA admin Zeldin announces 31 ‘historic actions’ targeting Biden admin’s ‘Green New Scam’

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin announced on Wednesday that the agency will undertake 31 “historic actions” aimed at reversing the Biden administration’s climate policies. This initiative aligns with President Donald Trump’s executive order to “Unleash American Energy.”

Among the key regulations the EPA intends to revisit are the Clean Power Plan 2.0, which Zeldin described as “illegal,” the endangerment finding, the electric vehicle mandate, and rules governing particulate matter.

In an op-ed published in The Wall Street Journal, Zeldin emphasized the significance of these changes. “By overhauling massive rules on the endangerment finding, the social cost of carbon and similar issues, we are driving a dagger through the heart of climate-change religion and ushering in America’s Golden Age,” he wrote.

Zeldin stated that these measures would result in lower costs for consumers, affecting expenses such as car purchases, home heating, and business operations. He reiterated that the EPA’s approach to environmental protection would not involve shutting down power plants but rather focusing on cleaner and more efficient energy production.

“Today marks the death of the Green New Scam. The EPA recognizes that environmental protection and economic prosperity aren’t mutually exclusive goals,” Zeldin wrote in the Journal.

He further elaborated on the potential economic benefits of reducing regulatory constraints, particularly in the auto industry. In a statement posted on X, he claimed that loosening these restrictions would generate jobs.

“From the campaign trail to day one and beyond, President Trump has delivered on his promise to unleash energy dominance and lower the cost of living. We at EPA will do our part to power the great American comeback,” Zeldin stated.
