The FBI targeted pro-life groups, Catholics, and parents attending school board meetings by conducting investigation in order to “inflate” the sense that they were a national terrorism threat, as per new whistleblower accounts.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) detailed the findings in a morning news conference, just minutes before three FBI whistleblowers were scheduled appear before the committee. Jordan detailed allegations from whistleblowers claiming that an FBI office in Washington, D.C., office was able to influence the rest the FBI to push an agenda of political influence.
“If you’re a parent attending a school board meeting; if you’re a pro-lifer praying at a clinic, or you’re a Catholic simply going to Mass, you are a target of the government, a target of the FBI,” Jordan stated in addition to stating that officials tried to “inflate” their investigations to make them appear as domestic or violent extremism cases.
Jordan states that the committee spoke with more than 2 dozen FBI whistleblowers while preparing the report. Three of the whistleblowers will testify in front of the public before the committee on Thursday morning.
The whistleblowers also received a rebuke from the FBI after expressing their opinions their concerns, they say.
Rep. Matt Gaetz, Republican from Florida. Also, a whistleblower has detailed assertions that Washington, D.C., field office is at the root for a large portion in”the “rot” within the organization.
“A lot of the rot, the committee has learned, emerges out of headquarters, out of the Washington field office,” Gaetz stated. “[A whistleblower] described the conflict that existed as the Washington field office put pressure on other field offices around the country to engage in law enforcement work without predication.”
Fox News Digital reached out to the FBI to inquire about their response however, they did not immediately respond.
Three whistleblowers set to appear in Thursday’s hearing are FBI Special Agent Garret O’Boyle, the former FBI Special Agent Steve Friend, and FBI staff operations specialist Marcus Allen.
